I usually wake up at 6 am, but Sundays are my lazy days so I got up at around 8 am. I tied my hair with a Zero-waste wooden barrette instead of using a disposable hairband. As soon as I wake up, I practice meditation every morning. I have been doing it consistently for about 3 years and on and off before that. I made the smudge stick with herbs that I collected from my garden and it is made of sage, thyme, and rosemary. I usually set up my meditation timer for about 10 to 15 minutes or do a short guided session using the Insight Timer app. After meditation, it is yoga time! So to prepare, I placed a few drops of rosemary essential oils into my nebulizer. The scent is very calming and grounding. I recently started drinking more water to better hydrate . . . .

The campus is one of the largest single-space campuses in Europe, it is about just under 500 acres and growing all the time. Well in the gardens team we have to have to manage the juxtaposition of being the top world sports universities and managing the spaces holistically. And managing a biodiverse habitat. We have deliberately not put sport facilities in the corners of the campus, and concealed the from everything else. They're actually built in to the entire campus. So our playing fields are also open green space, and that makes it very attractive. We're known at Loughborough for being an elite sporting campus. The campus is predominately green, but what we are probably less known for is how biodiverse our campus is, and how much focus on enhancing and maintaining the nature capital. It's hard to believe that when the Selkirk Settlers arrived in Manitoba 200 years ago, and they were told you cannot farm in Western Canada. This is a land of ice and snow, it is fur country, and you cannot farm here, it is not possible.  Manitoba is a spacious land, the easternmost of the prairie provinces located in the heart of Canada and the giant Hudson Bay Watershed. Once known as Rupert's Land, it was called the Postage Stamp Province, believed to be unsuitable for agriculture and only valuable for the fur trade. Who could imagine what this province would become? The Highlands of Scotland well into the 18th century were a tribal society. We had clans as everyone knows, and clans of chiefs and the whole setup wasn't dissimilar to that of Native American society in North America . . . .
